EDDIE (augmEnteD reaDIng dEsk) is a tool that augments printed reading material with projections of digital content (e.g., video, pictures, search results, annotations from digital versions, etc.) in a non-obtrusive approach. With EDDIE, a reader does not have to wear special glasses or headsets, nor he/she does not have to use a special device. EDDIE enable readers to interact with reading material (highlight, annotate, search) through hand gestures, pens, and voice commands. EDDIE also offers bidirectional consistency, which allows both printed material and their digital counterpart to keep the same content (highlights, drawings, and notes).
