Profesor titular de la Universidad de Santiago de Chile con más de 30 años de experiencia en docencia, investigación y administración universitaria. Fue Director del Departamento de Ingeniería Informática en el período 2015-2019, y miembro del Comité Triestamental para el Estatuto Orgánico (CTEO) de la Universidad. Ha desarrollado la línea de computación de alto rendimiento aplicado a resolver sistemas complejos en diversas áreas de aplicación. Actualmente, es miembro del Programa Centro CIRAS (Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Astrophysics and Space Exploration, donde desarrolla la línea de Astroinformática.
